Willow Glen is part of the City of San Jose, so any pool or spa holding water over 18 inches deep requires a building permit from the city’s Planning, Building and Code Enforcement (PBCE) Building Division. Applications go through SJPermits.org with electronic plan review in SJePlans, and the Permit Center at San Jose City Hall (200 E. Santa Clara St., 408-535-3555) handles questions. We manage the entire permit process for you.
Pool and spa setbacks in San Jose are governed by PBCE Bulletin 287, and the answer depends on your lot’s zoning and where the equipment sits. We confirm the exact setbacks for your property during the design phase, before plans are drawn, so the layout is approvable the first time.
