Pool Construction Services in Almaden Valley

Building Pools from the Valley Floor to the Quicksilver Hills

Almaden Valley sits in a natural bowl between the Pueblo Hills and the spurs of the Santa Cruz Mountains, and that geography shapes every build. Valley-floor lots take straightforward excavation and suit everything from play pools to full outdoor-living projects, while rim parcels near Almaden Quicksilver County Park often call for engineered shells and retaining that we scope up front, during design and engineering. The neighborhood’s famous mining history stays where it belongs: the New Almaden quicksilver mines, California’s first mining operation, are preserved county parkland and a National Historic Landmark, not a factor in your backyard permit. Pool permits here run through the City of San Jose’s Building Division at SJPermits.org, and our showroom sits about 15 minutes away on Camden Avenue, the same street that runs into the valley.

Almaden Valley Pool Construction FAQs

Yes. Almaden Valley is part of the City of San Jose, so any pool or spa holding more than 18 inches of water requires a building permit from the PBCE Building Division. Applications and inspection scheduling go through SJPermits.org, with electronic plan review in SJePlans. We take care of the whole process.

No, and it is a great story. The New Almaden mercury mines in the hills above the valley were California’s first mining operation, started in 1845, but Santa Clara County bought the mine lands in 1976 and preserved them as Almaden Quicksilver County Park. The mining district is parkland and a National Historic Landmark. Residential pool builds on the valley floor follow standard San Jose permitting.

Yes. Parcels along the valley rim, up against the Pueblo Hills and the spurs of the Santa Cruz Mountains, often need engineered shells, retaining, or additional plan review. We scope those conditions during the design and engineering phase so the permit package is right the first time.

San Jose Water Company serves most of Almaden Valley, with Valley Water managing the wholesale supply. Great Oaks Water Company serves the area east of Snell Road, so addresses on that side should confirm with the city’s online utility lookup tool.

Usually, yes. Almaden’s established suburban tracts have generous lots by Bay Area standards, and where space is tighter we design plunge pools, geometric lap pools, and pool-spa combos that fit without crowding the yard. The design phase starts with a site visit and real measurements, not guesses.

Naturally. This is a neighborhood organized around the outdoors, from the Quicksilver trails to Almaden Lake, and a backyard pool extends that lifestyle onto your own property. Tanning ledges, spas, and outdoor kitchens are the most requested additions on our Almaden builds.
