Troubleshooting
1. Q. When my pool is too full (ex. after a heavy rain), how do I drain the excess water out of it? A. Turn on the Filter Pump. Locate the faucet (hose bib) on the piping at the pool equipment piping. Connect a garden hose to the faucet. Turn on the faucet and drain the water down to the desired level.
2. Q. What do I do if the light in the pool or spa stops working?
A. Check the GFI Breaker located inside your pool equipment subpanel. If the breaker has tripped, cycle it to the Off position first and then move it to the On position. Always check the breaker once every 2 months by pushing the test button on the GFI Breaker to make sure your lights are safe. If the switch trips to the middle then the breaker is functioning correctly.
3. Q. Why does the pump seem to run but it does not pump any water?
A. Check the top of the pump and make sure the lid and basket are correctly installed. Check to be sure there is plenty of water in the pool (a level corresponding to at least the middle of the skimmer mouth). Also check to be sure both skimmer doors are able to move free and clear.
4. Q. Why does the Ray-Vac not move out of the deep end?
A. Make sure the Ray-Vac In-Line Filter, the Strainer Screen on the Ray-Vac hose, and the Ray-Vac debris cavity (within the body of the Ray-Vac) are cleaned regularly. Also check to be sure the gauge above the Ray-Vac In-Line Filter is operating between 20-23 lbs.
5. Q. Why does my pool and spa heater start to fire up but then shuts down after 2 or 3 seconds?
A. Make sure there are no spider webs in the Brass Gas Jets. The jets are located at the bottom of the heater cabinet and can be removed for inspection with a 7/16" wrench. |
