Hello, my name is Bill Shepherd and I want take this opportunity to thank you for considering Royal Pools as your swimming pool contractor.

Royal Pools is a family owned and operated business founded by my father, William Graham Shepherd, back in 1969.

He was an insightful man whose leadership and commitment to customer satisfaction positioned Royal Pools as the Bay Area industry leader in quality and innovation.

I began working with Royal Pools in 1974, in my early teens, doing cleanups, pool-mucking during the rainy season, filling trenches and participating in the startups of new pools. I have been trained and involved in every aspect of the swimming pool construction and business. In 1981, I obtained my C-53 Swimming Pool Contractors License, and in 1988 became the General Manager of Royal Pools of Santa Clara, Inc.

When my father passed away in 1991, I assumed the presidency and full responsi- bility for the operation and continued success of Royal Pools. I am a hands-on type of contractor who enjoys going on excavations to meet our customers and ensure a smooth start of their backyard construction project. Like my father, my goal is for every pool owner to be happily satisfied with the construction and operations of their new Royal Pool. By creating a close relationship based on honesty, commitment and service, we will continue to do our very best at living up to the expectations and desires of our happy family of Royal Pool owners.

We appreciate our community and do what we can to support its continued growth and needs. In 1995, Royal Pools set the World Record for the fastest construction of a gunite swimming pool ever built. We constructed this pool in just 3 hours and 38 minutes- an amazing feat! This pool was built and donated to a rehabilitation home for Children with Disabilities.

In 1994, we innovated the use of fiber to “Gunite” pools. The additive enhances the pool tensile and comprehensive strengths, and makes the pool less likely to crack during ground movement in expansive soil conditions, as well as during our ever-present California quakes. We are also the first to put two skimmers on every pool as well as 2 ½” plumbing, which greatly improves circulation in the swimming pools. We are highly regarded in the industry, and are recognized for building both swimming pools that set the industry standard for quality and are aesthetically pleasing.
